This exceptional Domaine is the labor of love of Jean-Louis Trapet, son of Jean and cousin of the Rossignol-Trapets. Jean-Louis began biodynamic farming in the mid-1990s, achieving Biodyvin certification in 1998 and Demeter certification in 2005. The grapes are partially destemmed and undergo a short cold maceration followed by a prolonged fermentation. The wines are aged in 30 to 75 percent new oak. No sulfur is used during harvest, maceration, or fermentation, with only a minimal amount added at bottling. The resulting wines are beautifully luscious, rounded, alive with energy, and incredibly expressive of terroir.

Jean-Louis Trapet is widely recognized as a master of Gevrey-Chambertin, a reputation exemplified by his flagship wine, Chambertin. This wine showcases a profound minerality that reflects the underlying terroir of the vineyard, while the Trapet style contributes richness and aromatic complexity. Burgundy aficionados have long admired Trapet’s wines, which are now better than ever. You won’t want to miss this extensive vertical of Chambertin celebrating a true Burgundy classic and representing one of the great insider estates of Burgundy.
